Organization of Knowledge Experts vs Novices

I love the stories at the beginning talking about the disconnect of how experts and novices process and organize information. I find this is a really common experience with college professors they thinks some concepts are so easy and intuitive, but their expert blindspot can get in the way and affect how they teach information to novices. Expert’s knowledge is already implicit and robust and has a sturdy framework, where novices’ knowledge is shallow, sparse and superficial. I found the suggests for how to help learners organize information to be the most useful. From creating concept maps, to highlighting extreme case examples, the suggestions are practical and can be implemented in courses and classrooms alike.
