Throughout the course we have talked about many different types of learning styles and how to design for knowledge. Thinking of ways to apply what we are learning about in the course to the client has been challenging. It is almost like everytime we go to the drawing board we are discovering something new about the learning goals and prior knowledge of the learners and have to change or redirect our efforts to another area. Thinking of learning design as a process, there is a million different ways to design learning experience, but from what we have read and talking about in class, learning doesn’t happen accidentally. The best learning experiences come from a deep understanding of the problem space, and is carefully planned out keeping your learners and the goals in mind. I love this quote from Herbert Simon about learning. I think it demostrates the heart of what learning design is:

Learning results from what the student does and thinks and only from what the student does and thinks. The teacher can advance learning only by influencing the student to learn.
