“Contactless” society and digital currencies

“May you live in interesting times” — it’s a saying often attributed to Confucius or to a famous Chinese saying. While none of these supposed original sources seem to be confirmed, we can’t help but agree with the saying itself. Living in the times of disruption is a true adventure and the period of change we are experiencing now is quite unique.

Nowadays it’s difficult to imagine something that you can’t do with your smartphone: get information, order food, apply for an unemployment aide, study, take photos, makes videos, play and even download and use a pest repeller app… However, how about the field of finance? Is it also being digitized in an accelerated way? What is the place of blockchain technology in this disruption process? How long until a cashless society? What is a cashless society, what is its definition? Is the digital dollar a cryptocurrency? What will banks do when the cashless society starts?..
