Animoca Brands became a Unicorn

Animoca Brands has just completed a capital raise of US$88,888,888, valuing the company at a billion dollars and officially achieving unicorn status. Read the press release here. 🦄

Since they took their first steps in the crypto world, Animoca Brands has become a major force in the world of blockchain gaming and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in particular. They’ve built a broad portfolio of investments into some of the most powerful and meaningful companies in the space, and Lympo is extremely proud to be a member of the Animoca Brands family.

Are you also curious about the reason why they’ve raised such an odd amount of money instead of a round number? Well according to Yat, NFTs represent culture and he wanted to signal a raise that equated to his culture (both of the region and NFTs in general). Here’s what he’s referring to.

AMA with Binance Smart Chain

Binance Smart Chain hosted an AMA with Lympo CEO Ada Jonuse on their official Telegram channel to talk about NFTs. We also gave away 3 NFTs and $150 in LMT! If you missed the AMA, below are a few takeaways. 📣

How will Lympo engage its LMT and NFT holders?

Lympo plans to build a highly engaging ecosystem of content and media around its NFT platform. One of the examples of our upcoming NFT utility is definitely the “play-to-earn” model in the upcoming games, just like you can see in projects such as F1 Delta Time. In these types of games, Lympo NFT holders are going to be able to play better and reach better results because of the specific NFT(s) they hold, while potentially earning rewards at the same time. Another example of the utility of Lympo NFTs will be the staking of the NFTs themselves. We plan to release an NFT staking platform in the future, so in addition to the model that we now know very well where we stake our tokens to mint NFTs, NFT holders will be able to stake their Lympo NFTs and get additional benefits from that as well. We’ll also organize auctions for “GOAT” level NFTs that our community members will be able to acquire. And there are potentially additional benefits that are related to those “GOAT” level NFTs. So these are a few examples of how we will engage our community going forward, but there will be more ways to utilize Lympo NFTs!

As you are part of the Animoca Brands family (such as projects like SAND, F1 Delta and Gamee to name a few), how will you work together to engage users?

One of the benefits of belonging to the impressive Animoca Brands family of companies is that most IP rights can be shared across these companies. Of course, it always depends on the specific agreements and the ways that those partnerships were forged, but it’s definitely a great way to add value to the ecosystem and to build on top of the shared IP, which then creates more shared value for each other. Our goal is to leverage as much of the sports-related IP rights that belong to Animoca Brands as possible, while we’re also onboarding more and more of our own IP rights that complement the ones from Animoca Brands.

What makes Lympo unique?

Right now, Lympo is fully focusing on the first stage of the Lympo NFT ecosystem development, where we are onboarding many sports athletes from different sports categories to release their NFTs in the different pools on our NFT platform. We’re unique in the way that we’re combining real-world athletes and sports clubs with custom-made characters and e-sports athletes that will all contribute to the expansion of the scope of our ecosystem. In the second stage of our ecosystem development, the real utility will come to life as we will build out various activities such as games and other media where our LMT tokens and Lympo NFTs can be used according to the “play-to-earn” model. Players will then be able to utilize their NFTs and stake them and earn rewards with real-world value.

Another way Lympo is unique is because of its dual token system approach. One of those tokens is the LYM token, which is an ERC-20 token that’s listed on various major exchanges. If people are new to the Lympo ecosystem, most people can reach our platform via LYM because it’s easily accessible at the moment. The second token is our LMT token, which will be the currency of the entire Lympo NFT ecosystem. As mentioned before, LMT has been bridged to Binance Smart Chain already, while the rest of the platform will be bridged to BSC later on.

The reason why this is a unique approach is that LYM engages the Ethereum community, while LMT engages both the Ethereum and the BSC community, effectively creating an interesting link between those two communities. We’ve launched a deep LYM-LMT liquidity pool that will incentivize people to get LMT via LYM, which can benefit both tokens, as the deep liquidity pool will therefore also function as a way to potentially stabilize the value of both tokens by arbitrage bots that link both the Ethereum blockchain and BSC together.

So through both LMT and LYM tokens, the Lympo ecosystem will be offering incentives and opportunities to engage multiple communities. And on top of all that, Lympo also brings together a community of 500,000 Lympo smartphone app users who can be onboarded onto the new NFT platform shortly. The Lympo app will be integrated into the ecosystem, which we hope will lead to significant growth of the Lympo NFT community.

There’s so much stuff going on behind the scenes at Lympo right now, of which nothing would be possible without the people that make it all happen.
