Cedric “RpK” Guipouy — Sharp And Steady CS:GO Professional Joins Lympo!

Welcoming the most recent addition to our Lympo Athletes Pool — Cedric Guipouy, aka “The Tank”. In honor of Cedric’s far-reaching legacy in eSports, we are releasing his set of Lympo digital collectibles.

Who is Cedric “RPK” Guipouy?

Cedric “RpK” Guipouy is a 32-year-old now-retired French celebrity in the Counter-Strike community. He first gained success playing the now legendary CS:Source. His calculated and consistent playstyle received a great deal of attention in the community.

Cedric has played in top French rosters, such as Epsilon eSports, Team ROCCAT, and Very Games.

To this day, RpK is considered the greatest player in the history of Source.

In 2012, along with the rest of VeryGames, RpK switched over to the new CS:GO. However, his reputation as a killer gamer followed him even after the transition.

Cedric together with VeryGames placed second at the next ESWC event to Ninjas in Pyjamas. The two teams even became long-time rivals afterward.

In early 2013, the eSports scene was rather small and not very profitable. So, to make a living, Cedric had to make a choice — he decided to leave eSports to start working as a car mechanic.

However, he couldn’t stay away for long, and nearly two years later, RpK returned to action and joined team Titan. Throughout his career, Cedric played in a number of teams — G2, Envy, and Vitality.

However, it was with team Vitality that he achieved the most — winning several international events that include EPICENTER 2019, DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019, and ECS Season 7, and finally coming out of the Major Championship group stage.

Throughout his career, RpK’s reliable rifle-wielding skills and endurance made him one of the most respected figures in the scene. The eSports community even coined him a nickname — The Tank, because of his aggressive, absurdly consistent playing style and the ability to smoothly hold down bomb sites.

In September 2021, Cedric hung up his mouse and keyboard and decided to retire. Now, he is planning to focus on his other passion — cars. He is aiming to start a business in the automobile industry. B

y all means, Cedric hasn’t forgotten the game that has brought him such success, he is still an active streamer. Therefore, we have decided to celebrate his superior CS:GO skills by launching a collection of Lympo NFT sports collectibles designed around “The Tank”.
