Lyrics — Tired of Telling Lies to Fool Me

Verse
Don’t recall that first kiss
The tender one upon my cheek -
Memories don’t go back so far,
Didn’t know then stars or scars.

I had my share of day dreams,
Making wishes along my way -
Can you tell me now what to do
When none of them come true.

Got tired of chasing rainbows
Couldn’t find diamonds or gold -
Searched too for a hero, then
That was so many years ago.

Chorus
For as long as I can recall
All I do is try
To find ways to say,
“I’m tired of telling lies
to fool myself”
-
Knowing
They only disguise
The insecurities
You always seem to see.

Verse
Now the days grow shorter, and
Nights keep getting colder, and
My secrets stay locked away,
Hidden deep within my mind.

Don’t know why dark skies
Keep raining on me …
Can’t they see I’m smiling now,
Knowing pain disappears when your gone.

Outro
The rain keeps falling down, and
My smile lingers on,
Knowing there’s no more pain
After your gone.
