If you had listened to the premiere episode of Lyte’s new podcast series — ”Spot Lyte On…” — you would have learned that Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett almost became an astrophysicist.

He also wanted to play rugby. And, of course, he wanted to play music.

“I was so ambitious. I wanted to do everything,” Lovett tells Lyte Chief Revenue Officer Lawrence Peryer. “I was that kid.”

At 15, Lovett began working as a club promoter, selling tickets to shows at venues he wasn’t old enough to attend. For that story and more from Lovett, check out the full podcast interview below.

The series, which premiered Feb. 6, gives listeners a peek inside the lives of talented creatives and executives like Lovett; the men and women who influence the most exciting entertainment and cultural events in the world. Peryer — an industry veteran who has seen his share of life on the road, in the studio, and everywhere in between — hosts the series.

Episode 2 airs Thursday, March 5th. Guest Matt Watts shares with Peryer and listeners how he goes from being an executive at Fender Musical Instruments by day to guitarist in The Starting Line by night. The Thursday, April 2nd episode brings a conversation with David Goldberg, a live entertainment veteran who shares his views on the current state of the industry.

The entire series and complete episodes are being aired on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, and Google Podcasts. Click here to subscribe to the podcast series on Apple.

“The feedback from “Spot Lyte On…” listeners has been terrific,” Peryer says. “This podcast is proving to be a great way for me to connect with many people I admire. I look forward to sharing more of their stories in our upcoming episodes.”
