Readers,

Welcome to the last edition of 2016.

Pursuant to this week’s news, we’re by no means trying to up the arms race of fabulous places to go on a holiday vacation. That said, this is a special one: greetings from the tiny town of alpine heights and traditions galore, but with an overlay of impossible chic: Lech, Austria.

#nofilter. ! swear:

Stack your firewood chic-ly:

Arrange your meats and cheeses chic-ly:

In a neighboring town with only two inns and one ski lift, go to a chic concert hall for a harp recital:

Even a mid-mountain W.C. defies chic logic:

Don’t get me wrong — I love my northeast ice, rocks and twig-filled ski vacations, complete with deafening cafeterias and some extraordinarily expensive and mediocre chili. And skiing in the West is beautiful, albeit tuition-level bankruptcy-inducing, as well.

Even on Christmas Day, The LZ Sunday Paper is a must-read digest of news, hand-picked by me, for you, about and by women in business, politics, media, the arts and pop culture. There’s usually something to laugh about, even to make you uncomfortable, but mostly to inform and entertain. This week, a slightly abbreviated edition, light on the heavier stuff, heavier on the lighter stuff.

Forward it to those you think will enjoy it. Share it on your social media channel of choice.

Send me stuff you think should go in a future edition here.

I run a side business, sans newsletter, @LZFloors.

Wishing you a very merry Christmas, coincident with a very Happy Hannukah, this year! Hanukkah, in Austria, you wonder? Well, they do have lots of candles. Chic ones, at that!

See you next week for a very Happy New Year from another point on the Continent,

LZ

The LZ Sunday Paper™ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh. Send suggestions, clips, or names of people you think might enjoy this toLZSundayPaper@gmail.com.
