Readers,

An altogether terrible week for so many, in fact all, of us.

On that set of topics, let’s let the news speak for itself, below.

Some bright spots:

  • Go, Serena!
  • Saw “Hamilton”! Second-to-last night ever with original cast. Everything it’s cracked up to be, imo.
  • Curveball: forgot/didn’t study the part of American History where Hamilton’s career is actually stalled/semi-ruined when he has an affair, not with the sister of his wife who apparently loved him and he loved her, but with a married woman whose husband blackmails him; Hamilton pays; and the affair continues with the husband’s (but not Hamilton’s wife’s, or sister-in-law’s) full knowledge.
  • Broadway spoiler/curveball: final number of the show, Eliza herself (who forgave her husband) gives a compendium of all the amazing things she herself did for the next 50 years after A.Ham’s demise at the hand of A.Burr.
  • Of all the things I have forgotten/never knew about Alexander Hamilton, it was that he is responsible for creating this.
  • In personal/professional news, psyched to join the board of GoPro. A cool company that makes cool gear for millions (and millions and millions) of people around the world telling their stories in individual and compelling ways. It’s a great time to make that easier and more connected.

Here is this week’s selection of pieces by and about women in business, politics, digital, technology, media, film, tv, fashion, sports, literature and general pop culture. Handpicked, by me, for you. Laughs are hard to come by this week. Aiming for gratifying bemusement.
