The “Thrilled” Edition

Hi,

After last week’s elaborate dissection of the word ‘abhorrent,’ I just wanted to let you know that this week, I’m THRILLED. Actually, I’m not, but everyone else in the world seems to be. For months, maybe years, I’ve noticed that there’s really an epidemic of thrilled-ness. People are not ‘delighted,’ ‘excited,’ or ‘pleased.’ They are nothIng short of thrilled. About everything. In emails, letters, blog posts, headlines, and, in particular, quotes in press releases.Kendall Jenner started out pretty pumped about her Pepsi ad:

Whatever Eyelove is, they were overjoyed they got a new spokesperson:

Shake Shack is getting psyched:

The business community is not indifferent:

A usually hard-boiled reporter is beyond delighted to take on a new assignment:

Who isn’t ecstatic about Meryl Streep?!

With great humor, Amy Poehler is super-pleased:

This school is overjoyed to address the parent community and ask for money. Twice!

The independent film community remains ultra-inspired:

And I was very happy to satisfy this enthusiastic request for my headshot:

“Thrilled!” would be an amazing gallery show, I am sure. I will add my computer desktop file of quotes to the pile of things I have that could, though likely will never, become gallery shows.

In the meantime, I’d be highly enthusiastic if you send me stuff you think should go in a future edition here.

Perhaps you will be more than non-plussed to read this week’s articles of interest covering women in business, politics, media, the arts and pop culture.

You can follow me on Twitter or on Insta @LZSundayPaper

though I have been way less than inspired on Instagram lately, except for floors, which are always interesting @LZFloors.

We’ll see what next week’s vocabulary lesson brings. Brush up on your thesaurus work in the meantime!

And Happy Passover!

LZ

The LZ Sunday Paper™ launched at the dawn of 2014. We expose and recirculate interesting content that is about, and frequently by, women in business, with a dose of ultra-relevant culture. We think that culture comes high and low, not much in between. Our audience is vast and not gender-driven. Every week we expect to deliver at least one good laugh.
