Greetings everyone,

It has been a long time since I posted. I’ve missed you all and am happy to return to sharing the good news of Jesus.

Today’s word is about a ‘True Hero’.

“He must become greater; I must become less.” — John 3:30

Many heroes in the Bible stood up for what was right and became advocates for God. Heroes like Abraham, Moses, Nathan, Jeremiah, and John the Baptist to name a few. Above all of those prophets, the one hero who paved the way for the coming of the Messiah was none other than John the Baptist himself.

John was known for his vigor, integrity, passion, and love for preaching God’s word. When John’s followers became concerned about Jesus baptizing people and the crowds were following him, John replied, “You yourselves can testify that I said, “I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.” … He must become greater; I must become less.”

As followers of Christ, are we lifting Jesus’ name up or seeking glory and honor for ourselves? Rather than being disappointed when our contribution is unnoticed, we should be glad because our highest privilege is to serve and magnify the Lord.

The Lord is our only hero!

Honoring Christ Jesus is the hallmark of greatness.
