Did Kevin Durant make a mistake by leaving the Warriors?

Ever since Stephen Curry won his 4th title, KD’s legacy has been in question. Will Durant ever win without Steph and earn our respect?

Ever since newly-crowned NBA champion Stephen Curry won his 4th title in the NBA Finals against the depleted Boston Celtics in 6 games, Kevin Durant’s legacy has been in question as of late. Will KD win a title without Steph and earn our respect? Or will KD be labeled as the guy who joined Steph’s team?

Either way, KD is being criticized for his legacy, and rightfully so. The lead “old head” in the pack to criticize KD is none other than senior TNT Analyst Charles Barkley.

Since the day the Warriors won their 7th title as a franchise, the feud between KD and Charles reignited with back and forth comments. The above screenshot is an example of those recent clapbacks and it looks like KD has had enough of Charles’ “offensive” remarks.

That is not all.

Here are more comments from both men who just don’t like each other:

At the end of the day, the trolling has got to stop. The back-and-forth banter is starting to become very childish. Charles wishes he had a ring and his jealousy towards KD is on a whole nother level right now. If I were KD, I would not even pay any attention to those comments. However, we all know that KD is known for his sensitivity when it comes to people criticizing his decision-making over the years.

As of now, no one is ending the endless beef between KD and Charles Barkley, which will turn for the worst if Kyrie Irving leaves KD dry in free agency. Time will tell, but for the criticism to end, Kevin Durant needs to prove to us that winning a title as the leader will earn our respect.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors are enjoying their championship celebrations and relishing all the glory. Point blank, the Warriors didn’t need KD and never will. In regards to KD leaving the Warriors to team up with Kyrie was a big mistake on his part. This is simply because he wanted to prove to the Warriors that he can win a title on his own.

Since then, Durant has yet to win a title, let alone advance to the ‘Conference Finals. Not only that, KD only won 1 playoff series and got swept in embarrassment.

Takeaways

Kevin Durant has a lot to think about this upcoming free agency. Is he willing to ignore the outside chatter and focus on winning a chip? Or is KD looking elsewhere for a place to contend and do the same thing he did at Golden State?

For what is worth, Kevin Durant should be thinking to himself, “why I am not winning championships? Do I have a chance to compete for titles every year with the same group of guys? Where do I go from here?

These are the questions KD needs to ask himself this offseason before it is too late.

Let me know in the comments about Kevin Durant making the mistake of leaving the Warriors and your thoughts about the ongoing beef between him and Charles Barkley?
