Using simple visuals techniques to help you slow down, see new perspectives and arrive at unexpected solutions.

Do you ever wake up worrying about the current state of the world? I know I do. But just remember, however bleak things might look at times — we are in control of our own destinies. If you are someone who is keen to plant the seeds of a better future within yourself, your community or an organisation then we are keen to hear from you.

Whatever your opinion on current world events, like Brexit and Trump, one thing is clear — we are living in an increasingly divided world. For too long we’ve been letting tradition and status quo be our guiding light. We have stopped talking to each other and stopped listening. It’s easy to think that everything is doomed. But what if you could just take a breath and listen. I mean really listen. Think of all the things we could learn from one another.

We think it’s more important than ever that we do something that helps to bring people together. We were looking for a way to have more open, transparent discussions, enabling us to explore different perspectives in an inclusive and creative way. After being exposed to graphic facilitation a couple of years ago and having done a lot of experimentation since then, we formed M.I.Scribe as our vehicle to do this and we’d like to invite you along for the ride.

What do we do?

We use group facilitation methods, such as Open Space and World Café, and workshops, coupled with our skills in visually capturing ideas and conversations using graphic recording. Our aim is to help people get to the root of their problems — in their organisations, communities and personal lives, to work together to create a positive future.

If you’ve been part of any group or organisation, you’ve no doubt seen the knots we tie ourselves in. People talk at people. Dominant voices drown out the less confident. Strict hierarchies hinder new ideas. Wires get crossed and conversations go round in circles.

M I Scribe Manifesto

We believe the future is going to be very different. The way we organise our selves at work and in society is changing. We need to be better at listening to people and really understanding alternative perspectives.

We work closely with groups to help them to slow down, reflect and listen to each other, using simple visual methods. We have seen that when people start to visualise ideas and conversations as a group, the side effect is clarity, transparency and a levelling out of the playing field. As people visualise each others ideas and add to them, they stop being ideas and start being actions. We believe that the knowledge we need is almost always in the room, and if we work together and listen to each other the possibilities are endless.

Come and be a part of our journey

This is an exciting time, and the possibility of creating a positive future is within our grasp. Over the course of the next few months we will be organising graphic facilitation workshops with individuals, groups and organisations to help them streamline their values, work together and start making things happen. We’d love you to be a part of it — let’s do this together. Join our tribe :)
