I’ve reflected upon this quote for much of 2021 and the conversation with Tejiri Odjighoro, Nigerian born, Social Innovator, Activist, Engineer and Yale Alumni is nothing short of inspiring. When I first came across a viral video trailing the story of Tejiri I knew I wanted to interview her. Her story, determination, commitment and tenacity is nothing short of motivational and what we need more of today.

So with ten questions and ten amazing stories, here’s our conversation.

NERISSA: Tejiri! It is an absolute pleasure to have you a part of this — 2021 Special Edition. Tell us a bit of your backstory and what led you to the incredible life you’ve built and continue to lead?

TEJIRI: Hi Nerissa, it’s a pleasure to be here. My story is an interesting one, and one I am always excited to share with others. I’ll start by saying, it’s an honour to have my life be described as “incredible” because oftentimes in the past, it hasn’t always felt that way.
