Rocco, thank you for participating in this series on — ‘Leading through tough times.’ These have indeed been precarious times with very unique challenges — What role should businesses play to chair the global conversation of recovery? Can you share how your company is leading the process to heal in business and community?

I don’t think it’s only the role of a company as a whole to play its part in the recovery during or after a crisis. Each leader of an organization needs to play their role too. People at the top are often busy to take big decisions that may distract them to see the small picture. For example, in my previous organization, the moment the pandemic was announced and tourism was shutting down one country at a time, I was the first one to volunteer and cut my salary in half.
