Dale Carnegie wrote a very interesting book on How To Win Friends and Influence People. A book that provides you with some really interesting stories of how the most successful people in the world reached the peak of their careers. But you do not need a book to tell you the basics of how to be nice to people and treat other colleagues within your working environment — it should be common sense. Let me tell you, it is not!

The following list is an overview of what people tried to get away with today. Yes, today — the day is not even over.

1. Pointing at you for your attention whilst you are on the phone
2. Using a managers name to influence you and push you to complete a request for them and give them priority
3. Touching your computer screen when trying to point something out — why?
4. Taking credit for work and ideas that you came up with
5. Demanding you meet with them immediately because they are free and think they are more important than you
6. Having bad breath
7. Letting you buy them a coffee but not offering to buy one in return
8. and finally, trying to be friends with you to gain a better understanding of your relationship with senior management.

People come in all shapes and sizes, but one personality trait which should always be consistent — is manners.

Share your thoughts on what gets your back up and maybe together we can have a winge.
