Living an Undeserved Dream: Thoughts from the French Riviera

More from France

I am a detestable person.

Currish in ways that are common to us all but in ways and amounts whose sums exceed the acceptable threshold that would allow me to consider myself equal to the minimal requirements of my own personal standard of noble character. Unfortunately, I doubt that I’ll ever be a good enough writer to qualify my indecencies adequately. So I will never waste time or effort on achieving such explanations that I have deemed unattainable. In life it is important to understand we are not perfect and move on. We move on unconsciously holding close the idea that so many have received fates, good or bad, that they do not deserve. And we still continue to hope for outcomes for ourselves that we have likely done more to repel than attract.

We are all only human.
So unapologetically without explanation of my deficiencies but with an understanding that all I have and all that I have ever aspired for is undeserved, I dream.
I dream of places, experiences, feelings and interactions that I do not condign.

While most of my dreams are forgotten, and unrealized, there is one dream that I can recollect and it feels as real as any moment I have ever lived.

On this one day during my memorable dream, I was a decent enough person to deserve the rewards of unforgettable experiences that stimulated all senses and a happiness that should only be reserved for decent people. And in this dream I was in the South of France. And during this dream I had no want to be any other place other than where I was at that time, the French Riviera.
