“We aim to solve the ‘Human Need Problem’ by building an application that facilitates equal distribution of resources,” says Tom van Dijk, Team Captain of M2M Economy Team Blocktrain from CGI. He and his team firmly believe that most of the technology to do just that already exists. They are going to combine it in such a way as to create radically new opportunities for mankind by taking the idea of a basic income to a new level and level-up to a basic standard of living. Free engergy. Free housing. Free food. What would a world like that look like? How would it function? What would need to happen realistically for that to become a reality?

We work with our team from CGI on a solution to make the transition to the new machine to machine economy. This economy requires a change to new rules to ensure everyone has access to the resources that fulfill their needs.

The resources to make this possible are already here. So it’s a crazy thought but only mentally, not if you look at the physical resources that are there. We already have a lot of mobility capacity a lot of logistic capacity a lot of energy that’s already available but not in the right location.

We want to solve the location problem of resources. It’s not a really crazy thought. It’s just connecting dots. We created a machine to machine solution that is very pragmatic and efficient. It will allow us to make the step from a focus on productivity to a focus on usefulness.

This requires a mindset shift, and during the preparation we actually made that mindset shift ourselves. We want to create a movement of people who think in the same way. Because it’s all about people believing in this way of thinking which makes it a reality. Of course, we will have a solution that can be a sort of backbone of this thing. But the most important thing is that people believe in this backbone. So we want to create belief, and we want to give them something to believe in.
