Google Cloud has announced Imagen 2, an impressive text-to-image engine. Currently it is not available to the public but it is being rolled out to Vertex AI users on the allowlist.
Imagen 2 was developed using Google’s DeepMind technology, Imagen 2 offers enhanced image quality and features such as generating images in high resolution, photorealistic images from natural language prompts.

- Safety measures integrated, aligning with Google’s Responsible AI principles, such as digital watermarking via SynthID to verify generated images and safety filters to prevent harmful content generation

Snapchat is utilizing Imagen 2 for their premium subscription Snapchat+. Imagen 2 allows users on Snapchat to enhance creativity through their AI camera mode. What AI camera modes allows is scene generation via prompts or selecting pre-set ones.
Shutterstock utilizes Imagen on Vertex AI to power its AI image generator, providing users with the swift conversion of text prompts into unique visuals. The Shutterstock website hosts a collection of over 16,000 Imagen pictures available for licensing, facilitating the creative process and idea execution.
