Bhagavati Seva Puja 1 July
Read a devotee’s account of this beautiful puja from the preparation to its impact on all present.
It has always been a special, spiritual privilege to be part of the Bhagavati Puja set up team, quietly preparing the flower garlands to decorate the lamps representing the Divine Mother, Ganesha, Amma, the guru and the seven planets and the petals for the chanting and offering. It’s not something to be taken for granted and I always feel touched by the love and service we are called by Amma to undertake for World Peace. The puja is for removing obstacles and negativities on both the spiritual and material planes, nurturing health and well-being, and wisdom and success in work and education. The roses were picked from the Centre garden and brought by devotees. We checked the petals for the insects that came in from the garden petals and released them to their outside habitats. The lamps had been cleaned with vhibuti (sacred ash ) the evening before and glistened when lit, adorned with the roses and jasmine. The smell was divine. As the ceremony got underway the chanting, the devotional singing of bhajans and the divine mudras ( sacred gestures ) created a powerful atmosphere and it seemed that Bhagavati manifested in the hall and peace and harmony was felt by everyone present -those who were participating in the puja and those who were observing. Amma’s Divine Energy truly graced us with her loving presence
