Unless you have been living under some rock, it’s highly unlikely that you haven’t come across intimidating words like Machine Learning or AI. For those of you who haven’t , fret not!
For thy lord has sent me to preach thee!
In this article, i aim to bust some myths, kindle an inspiration and ignite some interest for Machine Learning into you!
Let’s start things off with a clichéd definition.
What is Machine Learning?
Machine Learning is a field of computer science that gives computers the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed. — Wikipedia
Now, this is where non CS folks lose it! Machine Learning is inter-disciplinary!
Yes! Inter-disciplinary!
There was a time when operating a Mainframe computer was considered a mammoth task achievable by some Computer/Electronics experts, untill computers started invading every possible Economic sector. People were losing their job and knowing how to operate a computer became a base pre-requisite to get hired.
Guess what? Something similar is happening again! This time it’s Data Science & Machine Learning.
Machine Learning has spread it’s roots to every nook and corner available in an economy. From Journalists to Historians, from Linguists to Writers, from Engineers to Doctors,from soldiers to politicians, everyone is using Machine Learning/Data Science to excel in their work.
Investigative journalists are finding anomalies/patterns from documents,
Historians are digging deep into their findings,
Doctors are prescribing and predicting accurately
Courtrooms are delivering faster Justice,
Political parties are forming governments, all with the divine intervention of Machine Learning.
Machine Learning is the next big revolution.Jump in the bandwagon before or become a jobless spectator of the 21st century global Renaissance!
In this Publication, i will be posting a series of articles that will be a perfect layman’s guide to Machine Learning, with easy to understand analogies from day to day life!
Pre-requisite — Basic abilities of reading English topped with interest and nack for all things cool and interesting!
