My aspiration is a world of Cognitive IoT where our infrastructure talk to Autonomous vehicles. Today the self-driving car is oblivious to our nuanced social communication of honking, nods and eye-contact to fellow human drivers.

I believe that cognitive IoT is the solution to make ‘things’ smart to communicate to autonomous vehicles as machine to machine (or V2I — vehicle to Infrastructure) communication.

The “silence” of driverless cars will be broken as we progress from fragmented human communications not understood by cars to intelligent, nuanced cognitive communication from the many things on the road.
