Konferensi Big Data Indonesia(KBI) 2019
Konferensi Big Data Indonesia (Indonesian Big Data Conference) 2019, abbreviated KBI, organized by Idbigdata and Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology), taken on November 18–20 at Bumi Hotel, Surabaya.
Bertemu, bersinergi, berinovasi.
KBI is an annual event, bringing understanding to the people of Indonesia about the concept, technology, application of big data and data science. This year, KBI goes with the theme “bertemu, bersinergi, berinovasi” (meet, synergy, innovate). The organizer hopes the various community and disciplines met on the same event and work as a team to cultivate big data on Indonesia and innovating on developing science on big data.
Up to this year, this occasion is our second time to be a part of a KBI, it’s always delightful to meet many experts on big data fields. We bring home tons of erudition, complete with its challenges and opportunities.
Cloud computing is the hottest topic in KBI. In this era, big data processing tasks in cloud computing. Users don’t have to provide it owns tech stacks (servers, internet connection, etc.). cloud computing provider has been supplying all material to us to build our custom environment.
Together with cloud computing, there were many fascinating topics involved. Ismail Fahmi, PhD, The chief of PT. Media Kernels Indonesia or recognized as Drone Emprit talked about Democrazy 4.0. Unlimited data is lying down on cyberspace, both inside social media and website. He exemplifies how Drone Emprit crawls every social media to identify topics trending or which conversation popular when president inaugural and minister inauguration.
From 2019 Oct 19th to Oct 28th occurred 4 main topics, radicalism, economic, educations, and tourism. In the 2019 Oct, 19th radicalism issue became the highest, the day after that issue cooled down and turned by economic and education issues. However, from 2019 Oct 23 to Oct 24 terrorism issues back to the track as the hottest conversations on social media.
With the political issue, Drone Emprit also analyzed universities, both local and international. On Bandung Institute of Technology (Institut Teknologi Bandung) side, the frequent issues were HTIormasTerlarang, EidAlAdha, DavisNet. People from Gadjah Mada University (Universitas Gadjah Mada) top topics were UGM, ppsmbugm, ppsmb2019. Citizens from University of Indonesia (Universitas Indonesia) topic the most talked about was DollarNaikJokowiTurun.
That phenomenon differs from international universities, on MIT conversation around Artificial Intelligence.
Big data processing couldn’t accept any data. Billion data on the internet first be sanitizing before further process.
After the acquisition, data must get in the pre-processing stage before analyzed to fulfill the public needs. Information extracted from online media or online news i.e. economic, foods, security, educations and health. Conversation trend around those issues analyzed for each city to offer a suggestion or conclusion on city governance. Those were the prominent subjects we can draw from KBI.
There are many great things we could learn from an event like KBI, as a community this is our duty to make it happen.
