A thought on numbers and social media | Smallish Post 7

Everything is shown in numbers these days. Even things that we can’t count. My GPA shows how “smart” I am, likes on that instagram post show “handsome” I am, and numbers of friends on facebook show how “popular” I am. While these numbers can be useful, I think they can motivate people to falsify information just to get the number a little higher, because, numbers make it so easy to see how much better one is compared to the other. I think as social media grows in our generation, the authenticity of information on the internet is declining.
