A delicious way to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support this summer

Originally published: 21 June 2018

What could be better than a delicious pizza on a long summer’s evening? How about a pizza that helps improve the lives of people living with cancer too? It might sound too good to be true but now you can change lives with every slice.

PizzaExpress is donating a discretionary 25p from the sale of every Padana pizza to Macmillan Cancer Support. The vegetarian Padana is a perfect combination of goat’s cheese, mozzarella, tomato, caramelised onions, spinach, red onions and garlic oil. Light and delicious, it’s the ideal choice for a summery meal out.

And if you’re looking for a lighter way to tuck into a summer treat, the donation also applies to the Leggera version.

Sally Hill, Partnership Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “The support of our partners such as PizzaExpress is essential to improving the lives of people with cancer across the UK. Over the past two years, PizzaExpress team members and customers have raised over £1million for Macmillan Cancer Support. Purchasing a Padana is a wonderful way to contribute to a cause that affects so many of us.”

Zoe Bowley, Managing Director at PizzaExpress, said: “We are delighted to continue supporting Macmillan Cancer Support with one of our most popular pizzas. With 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK, I am proud that we have already contributed almost £1.5million over the years of our partnership and we look forward to raising even more this summer.”

About Macmillan Cancer Support

There are 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK. One in two people are likely to get cancer in their lifetimes. Cancer can affect everything, including a person’s body, relationships and finances.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical, emotional and personal support to people affected by cancer every year. The charity is there to support people during treatment, help with work and money worries, and listen when people need to talk about their feelings.

Macmillan receives no government funding and relies on generous donations from the public. People up and down the country show their support for Macmillan — from hosting or attending a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to running a marathon or giving up alcohol — so the charity can help more and more people affected by cancer every year.

Life with cancer is still your life and Macmillan is there to help you live it.
