WWDC24 shattered my hopes for iPadOS. We only got a few UI components, Smart Scripts, and Mach Notes—and that’s it!

Every other feature is shared from iOS and macOS.

Apple’s persistence in providing an identical experience for all iPad models is a strategic mistake. I suggest providing the basic iPad experience for all models except the pro lineup.

If all iPads are equal, why bother selling pro models that cost over two grand?

In this story, I’ll share ten iPad apps that look awful on iPadOS, not utilising the larger screen and the powerful hardware.

I believe in the correlation between Apple’s iPadOS team and iPadOS developers. When iPadOS doesn’t innovate, developers won’t mind innovating their apps either.

This might sound harsh, but if there aren’t more apps that utilise Apple Silicon on iPads, we’re simply creating e-waste. Besides limited video editing and some artistic work, what is the point of including a powerful M4 chip on a thin iPad that costs over a grand?
