If Apple had to be named something else than Apple, our vote would be for the word innovation because isn’t Apple all about innovation in their products? Every year, Apple promises an array of new products that never cease to sweep the audience from their feet with edgy features and top-notch functionalities. There was a time when Apple was all about iPhones, but they have progressed to MacBook in the past few years to offer laptops.

MacBook has introduced a revolution to the laptop world, and Apple has a huge role to play with multiple updates, redesigns, and integration of never-ending ease and productivity. Following a similar pattern, Apple is now working on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook. With this article, we are sharing information about these two new product releases that are likely to drop this year. So, let’s see what Apple is packing in the MacBook!

Keyboard

With both new options, the redesigning will be witnessed in the keyboard. For years, people have been having issues with the butterfly keyboards because of the failure rate, repeating keys, and stickiness was to cry upon. It seems like Apple has had enough of complaints and is finally ready to introduce a new keyboard. This time, Apple is coming forward with a magic keyboard that has been integrated with a scissor-switch mechanism.

The scissor-switch mechanism will have 1mm of travel, and in addition, the physical escape key might be integrated into the touch bar in 14-inch MacBook. The touch bar has been changed because users weren’t satisfied with the digital escape key, as it would disappear out of nowhere. As far as the keys are concerned in the magic keyboard, they are integrated with space, leading to higher functionality and ergonomics. The clicks on the keyboard will be top-notch as well.

The best change has been witnessed in the arrow keys as they have made their way to the magic keyboard. The arrow keys have been added with inverted T-arrangement. Also, the arrow keys have half spacings in them to ease the touch typing easier and accessible. In contrast, people have some reservations with the up and down keys as they are integrated into a single key, but according to the officials, they can be differentiated easily from the feel of buttons.

Screen

As far as the screens are concerned, the 16-inch MacBook is promisingly getting an upgrade in size, and it’s needless to say that resolution and pixels will be enhanced all the same. For the 14-inch MacBook, the retina display is on the works, and there are bezel removals as well. Even more, there are high chances that a 14-inch MacBook will be integrated with 500 nits of brightness. Also, there are high hopes for P3 color gamut. Some rumors have it that mini LED might be integrated, but the chances are off for MacBook, but it can be integrated into iPad Pro.

Redesign

It’s essential to note that a 13-inch MacBook was measured around 13.3 inches, and with the apparent launch of a 14-inch MacBook, there are high chances that it goes up a bit. However, it has been noticed that Apple is working on reducing the bezels. According to the updates, Apple is trying to update the 13-inch MacBook and release that by May, but 14-inches are in work too. As per expert predictions, there are high chances that a 13-inch MacBook will be redesigned into a 14-inch MacBook integrated with a mini LCD display.

Microphone & Speakers

With 16-inch MacBook, the speakers have been enhanced with a noise-canceling microphone. The speaker’s improvement can be seen with deeper bass. As far as the 14-inch MacBook is concerned, the speakers and microphones will be enhanced but on such a colossal scale. This is because 16-inch MacBook has the space for three speakers on each side but the smaller version cannot afford to offer such a place.

Display

The previous notions suggested that mini LCD display will be added to the iPad Pro, but there are high chances that it will be integrated into 14-inch MacBook (only if the 13-inch MacBook is redesigned!) As far as the launch is concerned, the mini LCD display might be added to the 16-inch MacBook and get released in the last quarter of 2020 and there is no news regarding the 14-inch one.

RAM

There are two mid-range options available with a 14-inch MacBook, and the integration of 16GB RAM has been confirmed. However, with the MacBook Air, Apple has worked on 8GB 3733MHz LPDDR4X, which offers high-end and never-hindering speed. The audience is hoping to see similar RAM with new models, but nothing is for sure as Apple hasn’t released the statement yet.

Processors

The 16-inch MacBook has been designed with i9 option and 9th generation processors, but Intel has now released the 10th generation processors, designed with Wi-Fi 6 compatibility. If we talk about the MacBook Air 2020, it has been integrated with 10th generation processors and 45W H-series. With these implications, the speed boosts up with the turbo feature. In addition, the thermal velocity boosts have been implied with core i7 chipsets as well.

Battery

The 16-inch MacBook has been integrated with 100W battery, which promises around eleven hours of continuous usage. The battery is enough to keep you working for the entire office day. In contrast, the 14-inch MacBook has been designed with a 58.2W battery, offering ten hours of continuous usage.

Release Date

The 16-inch MacBook was all set to be released in June 2020, and the 14-inch MacBook would be launched in October. However, with the pandemic outbreak, the release date might be extended. In addition, the new MacBook is in the process too, which is all set to replace the previous models. The new MacBook will be integrated with the Apple processor. This is because Apple is working on their processor as they intend on eliminating Intel processors from their devices. This new version will be released in 2021, but with the annual WWDC approaching in June, we will get to hear something more.
