2020 MacBook Pro 13 inch. Should You Upgrade?
There is a new MacBook Pro in the wild. Not the rumored 14 inch we were expecting and hoping for. This new MacBook is a simple spec bump with some new updates that might make it worth jumping to if you were waiting for a new smaller MacBook Pro.
There are technically two new 13 inch MacBook Pros that Apple released this week. One with four Thunderbolt 3 ports and new GPU and Intel processors with updated keyboard and one with only two Thunderbolt 3 ports and the new updated keyboard.
Which Mac to choose?
With this new update Apple has finally done away with their butterfly keyboard that caused so many issues for thier customers. Now their full lineup including the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 16" and MacBook Pro 13" have the old and better scissor switch keyboard which gives more key travel and better reliability for the thin laptops.
This 13 inch MacBook Pro is kinda a middle child because depending on what you need there is another option for you. If you want a light weight Apple laptop that with great battery life for web browsing and simple tasks you can get the MacBook Air for less than $1,000. If you want a power machine thats big and portable then you can go to the 16" MacBook Pro. You will need to know why you want this machine in particular before buying it. Do not buy it simply because you have the older 13" MacBook Pro and are wanting an update.
In my personal opinion, I would get the new 13" MacBook Pro only if I wanted a Powerful Machine that was also smaller than the 16" MacBook Pro. If for some reason you need or want it to be 3 inches smaller than I would personally get the 16" MacBook Pr or if you only want it for its size then get the MacBook Air and save the money. Every Mac can do all the same work, the MacBook Pro is just going to be a little faster then the MacBook Air.

What about the Rumored 14" MacBook Pro?
Does this new update mean that Apple will not be coming with a new 14" MacBook Pro?
The answer is that we don’t know. Apple will not be updating their MacBook line anytime soon, so if you need a laptop now is the time to get it. But there will always be a new and better MacBook next year. So the longer you wait the better it will always get.
