Small changes can make big impacts.

James Clear popularised this notion in his bestselling book Atomic Habits.

And it’s true. Even if you make 1% improvement in your life each and every day, after a year you would’ve made a significant progress.

Habits, good or bad, compound. So, here are some fantastic iOS apps that’ll help you compound some good habits in your life:

The home screen of Loóna featuring tonight’s sleepscape.

Loóna

Sleepscapes to help you sleep better every night

Loóna will help you ease into a high-quality sleep by letting you complete a soothing puzzle before bed.

These puzzles are called sleepscapes and they come with a story that is beautifully narrated by a calming voice.

I’ve been using Loóna every night for over a week and I love the experience.

Each night, I look forward to bringing to life a new sleepscape and listen to the associated story before I fall asleep.

If you’re having trouble falling asleep or suffering for poor quality sleep, Loóna will help you transition to a relaxing sleep and improve your sleep quality over time.

Loóna costs $39.99/year and is available on iOS and iPad OS.

The graph view in Obsidian showing my connected notes.

Obsidian

Learn better with connected notes

Obsidian lets you take connected notes on your iPhone.

Our brain works by establishing links between the various topics we come across each day.

Obsidian functions in a similar manner.

You can jot down a note and create a backlink to a related note forming a graph as shown in the screenshot.

This graph view lets you form association between your notes and in turn grasp a concept better.

I’ve been taking notes on Japanese philosophies I come across various books and articles, and I can already link each philosophy to another with the connections formed in Obsidian.

Obsidian is 100% free to use if you use iCloud for syncing. Available on all platforms.

The Grow app showing habit progress for the day.

Grow

Automatically track your daily habits

Making daily progress is crucial to making your life better.

Grow lets you track your habits automatically to help keep you on track and show you your past performance.

Grow works behind the scenes by capturing health data from the Apple Health app.

So:

You don’t need to manually input anything on the Grow app. As long as your habits are tracked on the Apple Health app, Grow can fetch that information and display with a gorgeous UI.

I’ve been using Grow to track my step count, water consumption, mindfulness time and sleep time every day, and it has helped me stay on track on all of these areas.

Grow is free to start with but tracking habits like mindfulness and water consumption requires a premium subscription that’ll cost you $23.99/year.

This app is only available on iOS.

A sample journal on the Command Browser app.

Command Browser

Seamlessly make journal entries from the websites you visit

Command Browser lets you clip text and images from websites you visit from this browser.

This is super helpful if you’re researching on some topic and need to collect notes for later.

All of your journal entries are stored inside the Command Browser app ready to be referred whenever you need.

If you use an external service like Notion or Readwise to collect notes, you can export your journal entries from the Command Browser to these services using the available integrations.

I found this app to be handy when researching for an article or keeping notes from articles I read every day.

Command Browser is available on iOS, iPad OS and macOS (M1 chip only) for a one-time fee of $9.99.

Wildfulness playing the “Uplifting Daybreak” scene.

Wildfulness

Relax to authentic nature sounds

Wildfulness is a collection of authentic nature sounds that’ll help you relax when you’re feeling stressed or exhausted.

You can pick a scene from the app and it’ll play a looping track of natural sounds for you.

You can also use this app to create an environment of focus by playing nature sounds while you work.

I use this app to calm down whenever I feel too anxious and need a break from work, or to unwind after an exhausting day of work.

Wildfulness 2 is free to start with, but if you want to unlock all scenes then it’s a $3.99 one-time upgrade.
