Each of us is trying to set up our iPhone so that its sensitive information, payment information and other important data are not compromised. But iPhone can be set up to keep you safe — talking about settings and features that have the potential to save your life in unpleasant or unpredictable situations. Which are they?

📵➡️🚗 Do not disturb while driving

Not taking care of your phone while driving should be a matter, yet many people neglect this measure. But whenever you get a notification or a phone call, it affects your driving attention — sometimes a brief look at your smartphone screen is enough to make a mistake. Fortunately, there is a handy feature called “Do not disturb while driving” on iOS. When you activate it, your iPhone automatically detects that you are driving and silences all incoming calls, text message alerts, and other notifications until you leave the car. Activate the function in Settings -> Do not disturb, where you can further set whether you prefer automatic activation, activation when connected to Bluetooth or manual setup.

Emergency 🆘

Each of us may find ourselves in need of contacting the emergency number. Your iPhone can help you to quickly and easily contact the Integrated Rescue System components. For iPhone 8 and older, press the power button to launch the Emergency SOS, or press the side button five times for the iPhone X. Besides contacting the emergency number, this feature also sends a message to your emergency contacts. To set the Emergency SOS feature on your iPhone, go to Settings -> Emergency SOS and activate the Power on/off option or Call using the side button. Emergency SOS works globally no matter where you are at the moment.

Share your location 📍

Location Sharing can save you or loved ones in life. Location Sharing allows you to find yourself in an unfamiliar location — locating them nearby makes them easy and quick to locate. With the help of location sharing features, used by parents who have their children to organize, returned home. To set location sharing, Open the Find My app -> select the People tab ->Select Share My Location or Start Sharing Location->Enter the name or phone number of the person you want to share your location with->Select Send->Choose to share your location for One Hour, Until End of Day, or Share Indefinitely->Select OK. If for any reason, you don’t like this iOS feature, you can use the Glympse app to share positions — always enable file sharing.

Health ID ♥️

You can also set a health ID on your iPhone. It summarizes the details of your health, blood type, current problems, allergies or even the medications you are taking. You can activate the Health ID (if not already set up) in the native Health app by clicking on your profile picture and selecting Health ID. After you click Start, the system will guide you through creating your health ID. If you turn on the Show on Lock feature, your Health ID information will appear on your iPhone’s screen when you click the Emergency button.

Fall detection on Apple Watch

Apple introduced fall detection when Apple Watch 4 was introduced. Users over 65 will automatically activate it, but younger users can set it up for all cases. If the watch detects a fall, it will alert the user and ask for confirmation. The user can either specify that the crash did not occur or confirm that the crash was OK. If the user does not respond within a certain time frame, the watch will contact the emergency number and possibly emergency contacts. To set Fall Detection on your iPhone, go to the Apple Watch app on your iPhone->tap the My Watch tab->Tap Emergency SOS->Turn Fall Detection on or off.
