The reviews of the M4 iPads Pro are in, and they’re unusually unanimous: the hardware is fantastic and powerful, but held back by the limitations of iPadOS. Because, you see, today’s iPad Airs and Pros should be able to do everything MacBooks can do because they use the same Apple silicon M-chips as MacBooks. So the only possible reasons why these iPads aren’t also MacBooks must be that A) Apple is too dumb or lazy to pull the trigger on making them so, or B) Apple is too greedy to do it because they want you to buy a MacBook and an iPad instead of an iPad that is also a MacBook.

This idea that there’s something wrong with the iPad because it isn’t a different product is fucking dumb, and the tech press should pull their heads out of their asses and knock it off. The single-app simplicity and focus of the iPad is what makes it what it is, and making it more complex in an attempt to turn it into something it isn’t would ruin the iPad for the vast majority of people. Instead of trying to force Mac features into the iPad, just use your fucking Mac and shut…
