AirPods Pro in 2021 — Are they worth it?
A review of Apple’s premium wireless earphones, a year and a half later.
On 21st April 2021 I officially gave up with the wired Apple earphones and purchased a pair of AirPods Pro on Amazon for £198.99. My fourth pair of wired earphones had just given up on me, and I could no longer bare the thought of paying another £30 just for the same, flimsy Lightning connector to break again in several months time.
AirPods quickly became best-sellers in the wireless audio market, and after three-and-a-half months of use; I completely understand why. £200 is certainly a lot of money to pay for the luxury of not having a cable dangling from your ear; but are the extra features enough to justify the price tag?
This is an in-depth look at the AirPods Pro, a year and a half later.
What comes in the box?
When opening the small AirPods Pro box, you will immediately be greeted with the small wireless charging case containing the earphones, a Lightning to USB-C charging cable and some documentation showing you how to set up the device.
Unfortunately, a USB-C charging brick is not included in the box, but thankfully the device can still be charged with Lightning to USB-A cables and their respective adapters.
