Coinbase is a cryptocurrency trading platform that lets users buy, sell and trade a number of crypto coins.

In this post, I’m going to take a deep dive into the Coinbase app for iOS. I will cover functionality, ease-of-use, fees, security, and the range of supported coins.

History

Coinbase was founded in 2012, and the iOS app was released in 2013. This makes it one of the first ways to trade cryptocurrency on mobile. Coinbase is a regulated exchange and has recently been approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to be listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. As of March 2021, Coinbase is the largest crypto trading platform in the US by volume.
