After a long wait, macOS 13 Ventura is finally available to the public. The new system was first shown to the world in June at the WWDC developer conference, where Apple unveils new versions of its operating systems every year.

Ventura brings several interesting new features — from changes for Messages, Mail, Photos, FaceTime, Spotlight or the ability to use the iPhone wirelessly as an external webcam to an entirely new system for multitasking called Stage Manager.

The new system is generally a success. But as is customary, Apple has also come up with several more minor changes alongside the significant new features that Apple users are only now starting to notice in everyday use. One of these is the redesigned System Preferences, which has seen a complete redesign after several years. But Apple users are not happy about this change. Apple may well have miscalculated now.
