Apple has been the leading company in the tech industry. And, their products are considered to be the best as they always amuse their audience.

Also, their laptop lineup has been the favorite gadgets of the majority in terms of performance, portability, size, and graphics.

Now, there has been an addition in the category of 13-inches MacBook Air.

If we talk about performance, design, battery life, and price: this beautiful masterpiece shouldn’t be neglected. The majority might be confused about it. And, a huge debate is: should I buy it?

That’s where our MacBook Air 2020 review shows its magic.

At the end of this article, you will be much aware of the laptop if it is worth your money or not.

Let’s jump in!

MacBook Air (2020)

With the new release, MacBook Air 2020 has upgraded a lot in terms of its performance. Also, the most awaited keyboard “The scissor-switch keyboard” has been featured.

Furthermore, Apple has claimed on its website that MacBook Air 2020 has

faster performance and twice the storage to its predecessor.

Plus, with this speed, the users can smoothly float through the internet without any lag and enjoy performing their daily activities.

In addition to that, a three-mic array has been added to let you have a more clear voice during FaceTime calls. And, an advanced stereo speaker that imparts wide stereo sound.

MacBook Air 2020 has yet again proved to be the most loved notebook.

Performance

MacBook Air 2020 is launched with a quad-core processor for the first time as compared to its predecessor.

It features the stunning 10th generation Intel Core processors 1.2GHz for mind-blowing performances. And, it’s the Core i7 with Turbo Boost that easily speeds up to 3.8GHz with L3 cache. So, lagging whilst working is now obsolete.

Furthermore, to refrain from running out of space and performance, the SSD storage handles everything effortlessly. From loading the macOS and transferring data to easily managing heavy tasks.

Needless to say, the 256GB storage is way too good as compared to the 128GB older variant. But, if you need more storage, MacBook Air 2020 now offers up to 2TB storage so you can enjoy storing as much as you want and be less dependent on the iCloud or external hard drives.

It’s pretty much expected to be pleasantly surprised by its performance. Editing videos, sharing large files, and performing other day-to-day activities wouldn’t affect its speed.

Battery life

According to Apple, the new MacBook Air 2020 has jaw-dropping 11hrs of battery.

But, it doesn’t keep its words when it comes to actual performance, says Techradar. Also, they have mentioned after thoroughly checking it that it only worked 8 hours after looping a 1080p video until the battery drained.

Plus, they further dug deeper to see if the battery can really stay lower than 8 hours. To utilize the full power, they played with the battery-hungry applications and the expected outcome came. It wasn’t surprising to see the MacBook Air 2020 staying awake for only 7 hours.

Furthermore, the good news about the MacBook Air 2020 is: in standby, there will be a minimal drop in the battery as compared to the Windows 10 laptops.

So, there can be a chance of staying up to a day or two on standby for MacBook Air 2020, claimed by Techradar.

Design

If we talk about the overall design, it hasn’t changed a lot as compared to the previous version of MacBook Air 2019.

While there’s not a big difference on the outside, the change you would see when you open it up; the butterfly keyboard design has been replaced with the new scissor-switch keyboard that solely focuses on the reliability issues that it had suffered a lot with the previous design.

Also, MacBook Air 2020 has used the Retina display that is much clearer, sharper, and crisper than before.

If we talk about the whole design, it’s made from 100% recycled aluminum alloy, designed by Apple. Being made from aluminum, it only weighs 2.8 pounds. Holding it in your hand will definitely make you feel like you have the lightest laptop.

Needless to say, it has a Touch ID fingerprint biometric scanner to log in to macOS and pay online with Apple Pay. Furthermore, while using it, you will figure out that it’s pretty fast and reliable to use it.

And, the product is available in Space Gray, Gold, and Silver.

Graphics

This version of MacBook Air features the Intel Iris Plus Graphics. That is, too, comes with the latest 10th generation Intel chips to skyrocket the performance.

Moreover, Apple claims that the MacBook will offer 80 percent faster graphics performance so there’s no chance of lagging.

However, there are some limitations seen while playing games like Fortnite, Counterstrike GO, Dota 2, etc. claimed by NotebookCheck.

Fortnite couldn’t be playable. Furthermore, the other two games were playable with some limitations, said NotebookCheck.

Any device needs high specs to perform well to satisfy its user.

Most importantly, it’s much cheaper than last year and the storage has increased from 128GB to 256GB for that price.

Verdict

This time MacBook Air 2020 has gotten a lot of improvements from a comfortable keyboard, the best sound quality, to longer battery life. This MacBook is now the default one for the majority because of all these advancements.

However, some still might want more enhancements in the performances — which, eventually, will be looked at.
