Apple just released their latest version of the WatchOS to all the supporting devices which previously had WatchOS 8 Beta 3 version. For the Apple Watch Series 6, it is a nearly 400MB update and could be slightly different for the other versions. Simultaneously, Apple is releasing the Beta 4 versions for almost every Operating Systems they have such as MacOS, iOS, tvOS and iPadOS. Let’s take a look at what are the major improvements and resolved / non-resolved issues that are present in this WatchOS Beta 4 version.

Apple Watches are one of the leading devices in smart watch market. The Apple Series 6 is the latest and the best Apple Watch version while there are Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 3 is still out there. Apple Watches are quite smooth and very powerful when comparing with other some of the other watches that is out there in the market. This WatchOS is its well optimized Operating System that controls everything within the Watch. Here is a sneak peek at what is this new WatchOS 8 Beta 4.

What are the improvements?

So, the first thing that you will realize after installing the WatchOS Beta 4 is the change in the Build Number that comes under the version. Before, in the WatchOS 8 Beta 3 it ended with an “f” but with the update now it ends with an “e”. It simply means that your watch is now one step ahead from where it was before.

To experience the maximum improvements, you have to update your applications too. After updating everything you will notice several new features and some API (Application Programming Interface) changes. One of the most noticeable changes is that Apple Wallet App now supports health insurance cards for people live in Australia. Bupa members, Medibank, GU Healthcare and NIB members are all eligible for use this ne feature in the Apple Wallet app. You can add your card to the wallet and then you can use your watch as your payment method in any supported place that gas Near Field Communication technology and this will cause to reduce the bulk of your actual physical wallet.

The battery life with the previous OS version was nearly awful. I cannot say that this has a great positive impact on the battery life but it seems like this version runs bit good when comparing with the previous version.

Resolved Issues…

The number of issues resolved is greater than the number of new features added. For an instance, a problem regarding the Automatic Subscriptions that was found before in the App Store is now resolved. A problem with cropping photos for the watch face is solved too. When it comes to Time Sensitive and Allowed Notifications in Focus, notifications will no longer bother you during the school hours, which is a great help to keep you more focused on your studies rather than your watch.

Still bothers…

Even though Apple managed to get rid of some of the issues, some of them are still present in the WatchOS 8 Beta 4 version. While some of them are very minor issues, some can be really troublesome. One issue is with your personal assistant, Siri. When you ask Siri to switch focus, it is only able to switch for the Do Not Disturb mode. In the Music App there is a problem with the Music Developer Token Generation and Shazam developer token issues are still here too. These may be quite unimportant for most of the Apple Watch users. But there are issues that can be serious headaches for you. For an example, when you try to pair your camera with your Apple iPhone some users have experienced a system crash which can ultimately leads to a device restart. There is another annoying issues which has to do with iCloud contact syncing. Sometimes, it might not show the name of the contact in calls or messages even it is saved in your iCloud, all you can see is just a random number. For people who have numerous contacts in their iClouds this sure is going to be a pain.
