Apple’s new 2022 M3 chips
The incredible 3nm technology brought to action
Introduction
Apple was always first when it came to adopting new processor technology and enhancing their already existing chip through the usage of smaller semiconductor sizes giving their processors the edge and making them a lot better than the competition.
This was true back in September of 2018 when Apple announced the release of the first-ever 7-nanometer chip to be available to the public being their A12 Bionic chip. This was done through the help of TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) which Apple contacted right after they announced the new technology.
In 2020, they were also early to join the 5 nm chip party and managed to add the technology to their A14 chip inside the newer iPhone 12 making massive improvements to both battery and performance and laying the foundation for the new M-series of chips which they now use in all their products.
