Apple spent several years researching the potential of making its Apple Watch compatible with Android handsets, according to Apple’s response to a complaint filed on Wednesday by the US Department of Justice. According to the 88-page answer to the US Department of Justice complaint, 9to5Mac believes that Apple considered making the Apple Watch compatible with Android phones. However, after three years of dealing with technical obstacles, the business decided to forego its aspirations to expand the compatibility of its smartwatches beyond the iPhone.
