If you happen to be a bookworm, like me, then there is one app you just cannot ignore — GoodReads. It’s the first recommendation on the App Store when you search for book-tracking apps, highly popularized by its direct integration with your Amazon account and ability to sync with purchased Kindle e-books. In fact, in 2021, I gave GoodReads the ‘Instagram for Bookworms’ title and had five solid reasons to call it so… but if you have used this website/app in the last few years, you might have realized it’s not as great anymore by 2025 standards.

GoodReads has been reduced to much of a legacy app. Whether it’s the website, the iOS, or the iPadOS app — all of them have an outdated User Interface and Experience with bare minimum book logging features and a not-so-great book rating system. I was just done with GoodReads and after I got my new E-Reader, the iPad Mini, a few weeks back, I started exploring other options. I am glad to tell you all that I have found not just one or two but five awesome…
