Brake, Fix, Repeat!
Apple recently released the 13.3 inch MacBook pro laptop which was expected to be the 14 inch (still expecting) and Ta-Da !! It’s finally here with Magic Keyboard. TOODLES to butterfly keyboard forever. Now all apple laptop line ups are with Magic Keyboard instead of butterfly keyboard which is a huge upgrade for apple lovers. The 13.3 inch was the last one with this upgrade as 16 inch and new MacBook air were already having the magic keyboard.
Apple’s new scissor-switch mechanism backlit magic keyboard is now having a real ESC key, inverted T shaped separate arrow keys, a separate touch ID fingerprint scanner and the apple’s iconic touch bar(which is kind of handy yet not handy for mosts).
I wish if apple could develop the touch bar in such a way that one can shut off or on only while required so that a bit of battery power could be saved.
Also it is the same touch bar with same functionalities and no further upgrade.
Anyway, let’s talk for the 13.3 inch laptop. Is it really pro? Apple’s new 13.3 inch has two models with base model comprising of two thunderbolt 3 ports and the top model with 4 thunderbolt 3 ports. The overall design and bezel size remain the same from previous laptop except the newer one has a bit more weight and size. The base model starting $1299 comes with quad-code latest 8th and 10th generation i5 and i7 processors with storage capacity expandable up to 2 TB and RAM up to 16 GB.
While the higher-end model starting $1799 comes with the same processors and storage capacity expandable up to 4 TB and RAM up to 32 GB. Both models have 13.3-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit display with IPS technology,2560 X 1600 pixels, retina display,500 nits brightness, wide color (P3) and true tone technology, macOS Catalina,720p FaceTime HD camera(like really?), stereo speakers with high dynamic range(best ever in any laptop), wide stereo sound, support for Dolby Atmos playback,3.5 mm headphone jack,802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 wireless technology,61W USB-C Power Adapter, up to 10 hours wireless web, integrated 58.0-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery.
The performance for multi-tasking like programming, video editing and gaming stuff is on average by far the best compared to screen size. Apple laptops do take more cooling time than Microsoft or other laptops. Apple also says that they have significantly reduced the thermal throttling issues and improved the performance for better longevity.
But the take-home line is apple is really PRO in breaking the things and again fixing some part of that things and selling it for much value.
If you compare Microsoft, Dell, HP or other laptops which will give you more performance for the same or even fewer money values. Well, the 13.3 inch MacBook is also the best performer in the competition but Apple has always been like this. The first break things and then fix a bit and business it for more than competition. Apple is exactly PRO in how to sell things and make most of the money.
Well coming back to MacBooks, so should you buy the new MacBook air or the 13.3 inch or the best ever 16 inch MacBook pro?? Well, if you’re not much into coding and developing and more into writer’s or blogger’s stuff MacBook air would be fine. If you want more performance, video editing and coding and web stuff with less budget the 13.3 inch mac pro is best and if you want hardcore performance like hell, the 16 inch MacBook pro is the best deal with less stumbling blocks !!!
