Choosing Between The M1 Mac Mini And The Base 21.5-inch iMac
Which Mac will best suit you if you’re on a budget?
The iMac has been around for a pretty long time in its current guise. If I’m not mistaken, the current design has been around since 2009 when it adopted the Aluminium Unibody and in 2012, it was slimmed down and has been this way ever since. That’s roughly 9 years since the iMac last had a major overhaul.
And that’s why, as ever on the Apple rumour mills, there is a rumour of a new redesign iMac making its way to us sometime this year.
Many are saying that it will be a new 24" iMac and a new 27" iMac. Meaning, we may very well be saying goodbye to the 21.5" iMac.
That being said, this new rumoured iMac isn’t around yet and with most rumours, there haven’t even been leaks of it. There are renderings of what it could potentially look like and its specs but no solid proof as of yet.
So, while we wait for that to come to fruition, we’re still stuck with the current 21.5" and 27" iMacs — which isn’t really such a bad thing. The current lineup of iMacs is still pretty good and if you have a good amount of money to spend, you can get a really good one and not bust the bank as if you’re getting the iMac Pro.
