Dickinson Season 2, Now Streaming On Apple TV+
Season 2 of one of Apple’s flagship shows, Dickinson, is now streaming exclusively on Apple TV+. When the streaming service launched the entirety of the first season was available to stream right away, although this was largely to do with the lack of content available at launch. Season 2 sees the first three episodes available right now, with seven more episodes each being made available weekly.
What will Season 2 be about?
Apple has released this synopsis for the second season: “In the second season, Emily Dickinson (Steinfeld) is pulled out of her private literary life and thrust into the public eye, while struggling with the sense that the pursuit of fame might be a dangerous game for her to play.”
The creator of the series, Alena Smith, in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, said that the second season will focus on how Emily Dickinson deals with fame. In the first season, Emily’s father largely disapproved of Emily Dickinson publishing her work. It is likely that she will now see her work published in major publications for season 2.
Who is in the cast?
Hailee Steinfeld continues her starring role as Emily Dickinson. Anna Baryshnikov (Lavinia Dickinson), Ella Hunt (Sue), Adrian Enscoe (Austin Dickinson), Jane Krakowski (Emily Norcross Dickinson), Toby Huss (Edward Dickinson), and Wiz Khalifa (Death) all return in season 2 to continue their roles in the series.
Season 2 also sees the introduction of several new faces. Jones’s Samuel Bowles joins as a newspaper editor. Pico Alexander will play Henry “Ship” Shipley, an Amherst College dropout, who rents a room at the Dickinsons’ house. Additionally, Nick Kroll as Edgar Allan Poe, Timothy Simons as Frederick Law Olmsted, and Will Pullen as Nobody.
