When the Apple Watch Ultra 2 was unveiled last year, a host of quiet upgrades added up making it a significant change over the previous generation. From the 50% brighter display, faster S9 chip, and double tap functionality. The Ultra 2 stood as a meaningful upgrade. This year’s top-line watch is not expected to change as much but will still deliver some much-wanted innovations and updates.

Display

Apple’s Ultra Watch 2 already carries an industry-leading always-on 3000-nit retina display. It’s the largest display found on any Apple Watch and can reduce its screen refresh rate to 1 hz to conserve battery life. While rumors have floated around for some time about Apple bringing a micro-led display to the watch that would supersede the current OLED panels.
