A few weeks ago, at this year’s developer conference, Apple introduced two new MacBooks in addition to new operating systems. Specifically, we saw the 13″ MacBook Pro and the completely redesigned MacBook Air, both of which feature Apple’s latest Silicon chip, the M2. Both of the previous MacBooks are currently on sale, so virtually nothing stops you from buying one. About the Rosetta compiler

The transition from Intel processors to Apple Silicon chips has been massive for Apple. This is mainly because Apple Silicon chips use a different architecture, which means that applications built for Intel processors will not work on Apple Silicon for users. Of course, Apple couldn’t force all developers to make an app for Apple Silicon before the release. So a code compiler had to be developed that could take the code of an application designed for Intel and “chew” it on Apple Silicon.
