Google Pixel Buds vs Apple AirPods Pro

Apple’s AirPods Pro has been out for a couple of months now and they’re selling very well. This year, Google made a huge improvement in their wireless earphones and they started to gain some traction. So in this article, I’m going to compare and contrast the Pixel Buds and the AirPods Pro.

Price

The Pixel Buds are available to order on the Google Store for $179.99. Although the AirPods Pro retail for $249.99, you can find deals for as low as $199.

Design

The Pixel Buds & the AirPods Pro both feature an in-ear design. They include different size ear-tips to ensure you get a snug fit. The Google Pixel Buds have a less-sleek design, but they have little hooks that touch the side of your ears for stability. The AirPods Pro is an improvement on the original AirPods by having a shorter stem and a noise-isolating design.

Audio

The Pixel Buds and the AirPods Pro both have beam-forming microphones and voice accelerometers. The AirPods Pro has two additional sensors: dual optical sensors and motion-detecting accelerometers. They also have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), so they can block out most of the background noise around you. Unlike the Pixel Buds that don’t feature ANC. Though they do have “Adaptive Sound”, which automatically turns the volume up or down depending on your surroundings. AirPods Pro uses its H1 chip and Bluetooth to connect to Apple devices seamlessly, whereas the Pixel Buds just use Bluetooth.

Battery Life

The Pixel Buds can last up to 5 hours on a single charge, and the case can charge the headphones for up to 24 more hours of battery life. The AirPods Pro can last up to 4.5 hours on a charge, and the case can also add up to 24 hours of life. The AirPods Pro is sold with a wireless charging case included, unlike the Pixel Buds which just comes with a standard wired case.

Conclusion

The Google Pixel Buds and the AirPods Pro are both great earphones. They both offer premium levels of audio quality and battery life at a reasonable price. I recommend that you get the AirPods Pro if you like ANC and a sleeker design, or if you already have the original AirPods and looking for an upgrade and if you use iPhones/iPads. I advice you to get the Google Pixel Buds if you want Google Assistant, the design, and the extra battery life, and if you use Android devices.
