Ever find yourself so immersed in problem-solving that you lose sight of your original goal? That happened to me recently when I overhauled my website.

TheWillfulWriter.com pulls together all my creative activities, aiming to make my content easy to find and consume. It was getting in the way, though.

To reach content on Medium, for example, readers had to follow dull looking links, giving little idea of what was on the other end. Wouldn’t it be good if you see what was on the other end?

Something called an embed block will fix that. When you embed, rather than link, to content, a preview of what’s there appears. Authors embed external content in Medium articles all the time. The platform makes it easy.

Could I do that on my Squarespace-hosted website? Yes, you can, and it’s actually easy if you take the right approach. I went down a few rabbit holes along the way, however.
