How My iPad Replaced My Mac for Daily Tasks
What is a Computer?
You might have noticed a subtle shift in the tech space recently: a transition from the traditional powerhouse devices like Macs to more portable, versatile devices like iPads.
I, too, was part of this wave, but my shift was not just about following a trend; it was a calculated and personal decision.
I have always only used my iPad for light tasks like streaming movies and browsing the web, and this always made me feel guilty because I was using an extremely capable and powerful device, not to mention pricey, with a laptop-grade processor, just for watching funny YouTube videos.
One fateful day, I was finally forced to start my experiment because my reliable MacBook Pro gave up on me. The display had an issue, and I had to wait almost ten days to fix it.
So, I had no choice but to replace my Mac with my iPad and use it as my primary device. This was when a thought crossed my mind: ‘Could my iPad Pro handle my daily tasks just as efficiently, if not better than my Mac?’
The idea of a simpler, more intuitive device was alluring. But beyond the allure, there were practical reasons, too, as the iPad promised portability without compromising power.
