I love two things of ChatGPT.

  • 1 — ChatGPT itself.
  • 2 — its API functionality.

ChatGPT’s API makes it easy for developers to integrate it into their apps & tools. Also,

You might’ve seen blogs around here like “B-bye ChatGPT — X New AI Tools That Will Blow 🤯 Your Mind”. Regardless, 99% of all the tools mentioned have ChatGPT at the backend. Else, they won’t work.

ChatGPT is the G.O.A.T.

Now lemme tell you a trick to integrate ChatGPT into macOS Terminal via a Homebrew tool called aichat (AI Chat), that uses ChatGPT’s API.

But, why should you install it?

Most Mac users don’t use Terminal in their daily lives (though they should). Programmers do.

Programming is all about productivity.
More productivity = More code = More work done.

So for someone who’s on Terminal all day, switching to ChatGPT on Safari is a flow-state hinder. It’d feel much cool, productive, and in-the-flow if it were integrated into Terminal, right?
