Often overlooked, the Today View is a convenient way to quickly access frequently used apps. Accessing the Today View is easy. Just swipe right from the Lock screen or Home screen.

The Today View provides quick access to your most frequently used apps (called widgets in the Today View). These widgets represent apps that you have on your iPhone and are customizable.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the default widgets you will see an Edit button. Pressing the Edit button will allow you to add new widgets to your Today View or delete the default widgets that you don’t want. You can also reorder the widgets to put your favorite ones at the top.

There is one setting you may need to check to allow access to the Today View when your phone is locked. If you can’t access the Today View from the Lock Screen, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode
  2. Enter your passcode
  3. Scroll down to the Allow Access When Locked section and make sure Today View is turned on (see below)

In the next post, we’ll dive a little deeper into the Today Screen and I’ll share an tip from my friend Brian K. that I really love!
