I Can’t Believe Apple Killed Off The 13-Inch MacBook Pro
So Apple’s scary fast event just wrapped up and it was pretty disappointing. Only 30 minutes which is the shortest Apple event in recent memory.
Also am I the only one who couldn’t stop staring at Tim Cook’s Apple Watch?
This is why I hate always-on displays on smartwatches; they’re so distracting. And now that bright orange band looks wrong. I’m wondering if this is secretly a stealth marketing move or if Tim Cook’s stylist royally forked up. You know you can switch watch bands.
Anyways after the event I checked out the new Macs and I noticed something: Apple finally killed off the 13-inch MacBook Pro. And I have some thoughts.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro has been so unfairly vilified and disparaged. Just last year I would have recommended buying the 13 Inch Pro because what are the options? At 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage here are the prices at the time:
- M1 Air — $1,399
- M2 Air — $1,599
- 13 Inch MacBook Pro — $1,699
So it costs $200 to upgrade to the M2 Air and if you spend that you might as well spend…
